The Tissue Trick!

The Tissue Trick!

Everyone loves a great looking lip color! The issue that most busy women have is getting your favorite lip color to last longer! Our Stay Put Matte Lip Creams are a fantastic option for a great lip color that is super long lasting.

However, if you have a favorite shade that is a different formulation, here is an old stage makeup trick that will make your most favorite lip shades last longer.

I call this The Tissue Trick!

Here’s what you need...

  • Your favorite lip color
  • A facial tissue
  • Some loose face powder
  • A Powder brush
1) Apply your favorite shade of lip color to your lips.
2) Take a facial tissue and split it so you only have one ply of the tissue.
3) Keep your lips together and place the single ply tissue over your mouth.
4) Take a small amount of loose face powder on a powder brush and tap the the brush over your mouth while the facial tissue is still in place.

The loose powder filters through the tissue and "sets" your favorite lip color into your lips (just like loose powder sets liquid foundation on the face!)

5) Apply a second coat of your favorite shade of lip color for more longevity.

Although most busy women find loose powder to be a hassle and too messy to bother with, the Tissue Trick is still a great tip for those times and special occasions when you really need your favorite lip color to last.

The Tissue Trick is great to do with our Triple Sticks Lipstick and Cream Blush!

I use The Tissue Trick all the time on my actress clients and they tend to love it!

Have a Beauty-ful day!

When it comes to taking care of our faces, most of us have good hygiene... We wash our faces morning and night, apply moisturizer, exfoliate etc. But facial hygiene also involves your makeup! Especially your mascara!

This has been said before but it is worth saying again... It is important to get a new mascara about every 3 months! Even if you think your mascara is still moist enough, or there is still plenty of product in the tube, at around the 3 month mark you should toss your mascara and buy a replacement. Here's why...

Talc is a 4 letter word!

TALC. It is a four letter word. And talc is an ingredient that you should avoid. Here’s why:

  • Talc can be drying to the skin.
  • Sensitive skins can (and usually do) have adverse reactions to talc.
  • Talc can "scratch" the skin.
  • And If talc is not processed properly, it may even contain some asbestos in it!

BB creams (and CC creams for that matter) have been all the rage for a while now.

And being that Mommy Makeup is the Best Beauty for Busy Women we have received several inquiries asking why we do not have our own BB cream.

The answer is quite simple... "I'm just not that into you".
